In 1949 the Sisters of Notre Dame of Christ the King Province opened a mission in Jamalpur, India. During these 60 years 18 Sisters from the Chardon Province have served as missionaries in India, and 270 Indian women have become professed Sisters of Notre Dame. Now the Sisters of Notre Dame in India have been established as Our Lady of the Assumption Province in Patna, and Our Lady of the Visitation Province in Bangalore. Sisters from Christ the King Province also serve in Notre Dame missions in Nicaragua, and The Philippines, and provide significant support for the ND Missions in Tanzania and Kenya. Click here to learn more.
