Our Educational Vision
The first Coesfeld sisters were formed in the catechesis and pedagogy of priest and educational reformer
Fr. Bernard Overberg. This strong educational heritage has been articulated anew for the global needs of the twenty-first century.
Our educational vision statement is:
Impelled by Jesus Christ and his mission and our rich educational heritage,
we provide a Catholic-Christian environment of educational excellence
for the transformation of individuals and society.
We form persons who are skilled and committed to journey together in hope
as witnesses and catalysts for the responsible care of all God’s creation
and for justice and peace, especially for those on the margins of society.
Our Educational Principles are:
- The centrality of a good and provident God
- The human dignity of each person as an image of God
- The Notre Dame educator as Gospel witness
- An integrated education for transformation
The SND National Education Office (http://www.sndeducation.org/) offers formation programs and services to empower both sisters and collaborators to educate for transformation.
